News Letter - March 2010

My Dearest Friends,

As I sit here on the front porch watching the sun go down over the jungle in its entire splendor I cant help but to think how the God of the entire universe is even more awesome in His splendor! At this moment its hard to put all the things that God has been doing here in Belize in the same thought, but I will attempt it the best I can so the blessings can be shared with you.

Beate and I had some dear friends Lindy and Jim go along on the trip to Belize. Upon arrival Lindy started Bridge the Gaps first class with some of the young women and teens from Black Man Eddy village (sowing). It went really well , and they all had so much fun learning about patterns and how the machines worked ,but most importantly they learned about Gods love! Each class started out with devotions and is great to see them not only learn how to sow, but also to grow in Gods love. This class was in large part possible because of material and sewing supplys donated from our dear friend Barbra Love of Faith Community Church. I pray for Gods comfort in her time of need. I shall miss my beloved friend who demonstrated to his love for King Jesus to me. I will see you brother when we meet again in Heaven.

Beate started to teach preschool 3sand 4s.It was pretty interesting to watch Beate only speaking English and German working with kids that only spoke Spanish and a little Creole. But god made a way and all is working out just the way God planed it.

The day after we arrived Mike my friend from Maryland arrived to start the first classes in construction with the young men from Black Man. The class started at 9am with an hour of Gods word 2 hours of construction an hour lunch 2 more hours on construction and ended with an hour of spiritual growth with pastor Crag from Belmopan Christian College. It was slow starting but God gave Mike and Pastor Crag the patience of Job, and before you knew it they learning! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

We were also blessed to have Nicole come in to serve with us WHAT A BLESSING. She hit the ground running. First she worked around the new dorm house landscaping with plants and gardening, whew that was work in 90 degree weather. Than Nicole filled in at preschool when Beate had to leave to New Zealand to help our daughter in-law Sally while has our new granddaughter Yahoo!Nicole filled in at the preschool in the morning came back to B.T.G. make me lunch than off to the B.T.G.s construction class to teach reading to the students than off to the ladys bible study in the next village across t the river. Talk about long days.

With all that going on I was working at B.T.G. building the first floor block walls on the school the (Art Love Learning Center), and well also the first girls dorm, septic and keeping the jungle back too. Praise God for every aspect of what is going on because without Him it is all just a clinging symbol.

The highlight of my week is having bible study under a single light bulb at Pablos house if I had remembered to bring gas for the genitor if not with a flashlight, also at Miss Virginias house with a car battery for power; it brings tears to my eyes to see them eager to learn about Gods love.

My dear beloved friends please keep Beate and me in your prayers as we spared the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people that God brought us too. Pray that God would also open there eyes to the only thing worth living for. Serving the God of the sun rise and the God of the sun set! Micah 6:8 says, 'He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.'[NKJ]

It is such a small thing that The Lord of Hosts asks of us. To do what is right not just what we think is right but what God says is right in His Holy Word, to love mercy, when you love something you seek it out ,you look for ways to attain it, But to humbly walk with God implies having a relationship with Him. Enoch walked with God and was no more. I pray that we all humbly walk with God!

We love you all,

John & Beate
